The European Construction Forum holds today a meeting on “Construction 4.0”.

The European Union of Developers and House Builders (UEPC) will attend the European Construction Forum with a delegation composed of Filiep Loosveldt, UEPC Managing Director, Per Jæger, Managing Director of the Norwegian Home Builders’ Association (NHBA), and Jøns Sjøgren, also from NHBA.

The goal of the meeting is to find common ground between relevant stakeholders of the construction sector. In attendance were Architects’ Council of Europe (ACE), Construction Products Europe, European Asphalt Pavement Association (EAPA), European Council of Civil Engineers (ECCE), European Federation of Buildings and Woodworkers (EFBWW), European Federation of Engineering Consultancy Associations (EFCA), European Insulation Manufacturers Association (EURIMA), European Construction Industry Federation (FIEC), Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Committee for European Construction Equipment (CECE), European Builders Confederation (EBC), European Convention for Constructional Steelwork (ECCS), Federcostruzioni, and GCP Europe.

The first part of the meeting focused on “Construction 4.0”. Participants highlighted the fact that digitalisation was a focus for the construction sector and that partners should be able to unify their message to make their voices heard with the relevant European stakeholders.

The main ideas emerging from the meeting were the draft of a joint manifesto, the draft of a digitalisation roadmap, the draft of a stakeholders’ map, seeking more R&D funding, and the use of Construction 2020 as a stepping stone.
